How to Use the QR Code Generator

Paste a URL, plain text, or any string into the input field.

The QR code is generated instantly and displayed in the preview area.

Download the QR code as a PNG or SVG for use in print, digital, or deployment contexts.

What Is a QR Code?

A QR code (Quick Response code) is a two-dimensional matrix barcode that encodes data — typically a URL or text string — as a pattern of black and white squares. QR codes can be scanned by any modern smartphone camera and are capable of encoding URLs, plain text, contact information, Wi-Fi credentials, and more. They support error correction, meaning a QR code can still be read even if part of it is damaged or obscured. QR codes are defined by the ISO/IEC 18004 standard.

When to Use This Tool

Sharing URLs offline — Embed a QR code in printed materials, posters, or presentations so users can reach a URL without typing.

Linking to documentation or tools — Generate QR codes pointing to internal docs, staging environments, or dev tools for use in demos or onboarding.

Wi-Fi credential sharing — Encode Wi-Fi credentials in a QR code so guests can connect without reading out a password.

Deployment and device provisioning — Use QR codes to encode configuration URLs or tokens for device setup flows.

FAQ

Answers about this tool and how your data is handled.

What types of data can I encode?

URLs, plain text, email addresses, phone numbers, SMS strings, Wi-Fi credentials (using the WIFI: format), and any arbitrary text string up to the QR code's data capacity.

What affects a QR code's data capacity?

Error correction level, QR version (size), and character type. Higher error correction reduces capacity. URLs and alphanumeric strings are encoded more efficiently than arbitrary binary data.

What download formats are available?

PNG for raster use (web, print) and SVG for vector use (scalable, print-ready). SVG is preferred when you need to resize the QR code without quality loss.

Does this tool send my data to a server?

No. QR codes are generated entirely in your browser. Nothing is uploaded.

Can I scan the generated QR code to test it?

Yes — use your phone camera or any QR scanning app directly on the preview displayed on screen.
